Setting the course with website design and copywriting
Fred and Mel are a husband-and-wife team of wedding photographers in Mexico, and from the very first call we were struck by their unique dynamic. We noticed Fred’s warming charm and Mel’s drive, but what stayed with us was their intentional, artistic approach to telling visual narratives. Their previous brand voice (boho and not accurate for their luxury touch) hid that and limited them to working in their hometown of Tulum. Fred and Mel wanted to expand their horizons, attracting more destination work in places like Cabo, California, and Europe with an editorial feel. During the writing process, we leaned into that, drawing on notes of nostalgia, style, and global perspectives.
The flavor
Fred and Mel’s relationship as a couple and as a photography team is easy and subtle. Neither is the lead, nor does the other follow. Instead, they balance each other with natural transitions and subtle cues. We wove this throughout their copy and brand voice, and then echoed it with their website design using a combination of Showit templates from Northfolk. This is the tone we set for their project:

The recipe
- Expand their area of service outside of Tulum into popular destinations across Mexico, with a handful of international couples each year.
- Step out of the boho feeling and into a brand voice that is editorial, speaking to the high-end international couples who are laid back and keen for something artistic.
- Connect with ideal clients through an emotional tone of voice that is elevated and intriguing.
